  • A painted tabletop archipelago with raised peaks and forests, named wind faces in each corner and another title cartouche reading the Shattered Isles. The two prompt features sit on separate islands. In the northeast, the Ashspine Range is a black volcanic island with an erupting cone and bright orange lava rivers flowing down past Kharzul and Emberdeep, with the smaller Ember Isles smoking beside it. In the centre, the largest island is the Orun Steppe, open grassland with red-and-white nomad tents at the Kesh Encampment, Boran Camp and the Tulgar Nomads, and herds of horses. Around them, the other islands vary widely: snowy Frosthallow, forested Isle of Teren with a waterfall castle, the dark Mirewood, desert Zalanth, the Coral Reaches with turquoise lagoons, and the Drowned Spires rising from the sea. A kraken lurks in the Vhalor Sea. Kharzul, Mirewood, Orun and the Shattered Isles all repeat earlier names.

  • A clean, colourful atlas-style world map with five continents and several island groups around the Azure Deep and the Shattered Ocean. The frozen north is Vyrthen Reach, a band of glaciers and icy peaks with Hrostgard and the Silverwaste. The southwest continent, Nymra, is the reason to pick this map: it is almost all the Weeping Marshes, a misty green-grey wetland of reeds and channels with Shroudfen and Mireholm, and at its heart lies the Sunken City of Vaelith, a cluster of drowned spires glowing turquoise beneath the water. The other lands cover the rest of the climates: Thaloran with its Riverlands and Crimson Dunes, Lorathen with the volcanic Ashen Heights and Golden Steppes, Desmeris around Lake Thalen and the Scarlet Wastes, and the tropical island chain of Ithalas with its own volcano. A legend covers marsh, desert, tundra and ruins. Caelmere, Frosthold and Khaldur repeat earlier names.

  • An engraved coast with hand-tinted colour and four named wind faces, each with a caption about its weather (the Westwind Fills the Sail). The eastern half of the land is the Elderwood, labelled Ancient Trees Older than Kings, a dense dark forest with a glowing fountain at Moonwell Grove, Thornspire Keep at its edge and the Hollowroot in the south. The south coast is the highlight. The Sunwhite Cliffs drop as a long wall of white chalk into the Glassen Sea, and the Seven Sisters, a row of tall sea stacks, stand offshore with more stacks around Maiden's Cove. The rest of the coast is properly rugged, with Westermere Bay, Highwatch Head, Gullhelm Harbour and a lighthouse at Caelrock, plus rocky islets like Raven's Tooth and Wyrm's Eye. Inland lie farms, the Stormfen Marshes and the Stonewold Mountains. Greyhaven is labelled twice, and Oakridge and Greenhollow appear again.

  • A painted tabletop continent with raised peaks and forests, titled Valdareth, the Shattered Crown. Across the north runs the Emberspine Range, a band of black volcanic peaks streaming bright orange lava down into the grey Cinder Wastes and Ashflow Reach, with the dark fortress of Kharazul in its foothills and the snowy Frosthelm Peaks beyond. The Vornen River flows east from the volcanoes and splits into the Serelune Delta, a wide fan of branching channels and green islets reaching the Dawning Sea, with the harbour city of Myrhaven at its mouth and the Briarfen Marshes above it. The rest of the land is varied and lush: the Greyhollow Forest and Eldewood, the golden Sunfield Plains around Halstone, the Goldenreach Hills, and coastal towns like Duskport and Thalassa. A big sea serpent, the Deepward Serpent, coils in the southeast. Thalgrim and the Shattered Crown subtitle repeat earlier maps.

  • A painted tabletop kingdom with raised forests, castles and hills, bordered by a dark red line with the Kingdom of Drakemoor, the Thornwald Marches and the Kingdom of Morgrath beyond it. The prompt's chain of lakes runs straight down the middle: Moonfen Lake, Silvermere, Hartlake, Kingslake (with an island castle) and Sunfall Lake are strung together by the Valerun River, which carries on south to the walled capital Valemere on the coast. On both sides of the lakes the hills are wine country. The Sunwine Hills, the Goldenvale Vineyards and Arden's Vineyards are stepped into terraces and striped with rows of vines around Highcrest Castle and Eastwatch Keep. The coast is green and rocky, with Seabright's lighthouse, Halcyon Cape and the white Glassing Cliffs, and a sea monster with tentacles lurks in the Emerald Sea. A full legend covers terraces and vineyards. Valemere, Ravenford, Oakridge and Morgrath all repeat earlier names.

  • A clean, colourful atlas-style archipelago titled the Sundered Isles, with a dozen named islands spread across the Azure Expanse and the Serpent Deep. The large central island, Rhodenn, holds both prompt features side by side. On its west half, the walled capital Valenor sits on an island in a looping river, which then spills over waterfalls into the sea. On its east half, the Withered Wood is a big grey patch of dead, twisted trees with nothing living in it. The other islands each have a character: snowy Voralis under the Frostspine Peaks, volcanic Eldren with the Ashen Crown and Kareth with Molgra, the swampy Sallowmere with Gloomfen, elegant Lyris with the white city of Starhaven, and Nerath with the ruined Moonward Spires. A green sea serpent rears in the Serpent Deep, a kraken lurks off the Brinewatch Isles, and a shipwreck sits on the Wandering Reefs. The scale is in leagues, and the Sundered Isles title, Valenor, the Ashen Crown and the Withered Wood all repeat earlier maps.

  • A sepia parchment mountain realm with the motto High Valleys, Deep Roots, Strong Peoples, Far Horizons, and one of the more varied maps here. The north is the Frostspire Range, with Khaldur Peak marked at 12,460, and below it a web of high valleys and named passes (Ironspine, Raven Gate, Skyfall, Cloudgate, Moonvein, Windscar, Ashen) linking towns like Thalorren and Caer Keldan along the Silverflow. The west coast drops into the Sulinthar Jungle, dense palms and waterfalls down to the Emerald Coast, with turquoise lagoons, the Sunset Reefs and the Coral Crown Islands offshore. The southeast opens into the Golden Steppe, with Orun Nomads, round tents, horse herds, nomad trails and the camp of Khan's Rest. A kraken pulls a ship down at the Drowned King's Grasp, and a whale and dolphins swim in the Songwhale Deep. Karsthold and Stormhollow repeat earlier names, and the scale is in miles.

  • A soft watercolour kingdom with a raven crest and a named wind face in each corner, bordered by a dotted red line with neighbours all around: the Brineheath Principality, the Mirewood Thanes, the Drakenspire Marches, the Stonevale Realm and the Goldenreach Confederacy. The north coast is the Shattered Fjords, a row of long icy inlets cutting between snowy peaks, with Norse-sounding towns like Hjarnskerr, Skalven, Frosthavn, Valmsund and Grimnes. Across the middle of the kingdom runs the Stonewarden Wall, a long towered stone wall with gatehouses at Wallgate and castles at both ends, splitting the northern marches from the farmland to the south. Below the wall the kingdom is green and settled, with Deepmere Lake, the castles of Greyhold and Kingsrest, Silverfen lake and towns like Briarford and Mootford. The scale is in miles. The Stonewarden Wall, Ravenford, Eldermere and Blackmere all repeat earlier maps.

  • A minimalist black-ink world map in the style of a novel's endpapers, with an ornate border of vines and trees, and four continents around the Etherean Deep. The prompt's two features are on different continents. On Thaldara in the southeast, the Sunless Chasm is a deep, sheer-walled canyon drawn in heavy black shading that slices diagonally across the whole land, with Kaelthir, Vareth and the Cindercrest Volcanoes on either side. On Khaldur in the northeast, the Dreadwood is a dark patch of dead, leafless trees around the ruin of Mournhallow, below the Ironspine Mountains and the Bleak Expanse. The western continents are calmer: Vorlén with the Celandir Forest and the Amber Wastes, and Saryth with the Eldwood and the Gilded Plains. The small Myrath Isles hold the spired city of Skyreach. Sea serpents swim in the Obsidian Sea and the Veiled Sea. Valemere is labelled twice, and Khaldur and the Dreadwood repeat earlier names.

  • An elven-style archipelago in deep blue and green with gold-leaf vines around the border, subtitled Isles of Song, Isles of Stone, Isles of Endless Horizons. The large central island, Elarion, holds the capital: Velynth, Capital of the Isles, a white-and-gold walled city of spires sitting where the Aelwen River winds down from the Sylvaen Woodlands and splits around it on its way to the sea. On the big island to the east, the Dragon Peaks rise in a snowy mass, and a red dragon spreads its wings above a spot marked Vyrmnar Lair, with Skarholt and Kaelthas nearby. Around these, more than a dozen smaller islands each have an elegant white town, such as Eldemere, Lyrien, Irisden, Duskharbor and Skyreach. Sea serpents coil in the Glimmering Sea and Moonfall Sea, a kraken lurks in the Obsidian Deep, and a drowned ruin called the Sunken Crown rises in the southeast. Skyreach and Eldemere repeat earlier names.

  • An elven-style continent in deep navy and green with gold scrollwork, titled Aerindor, the Crown Continent, Realms, Rivers, Cities, Peoples in Balance. Across the middle runs the prompt's chain of lakes: Lake Myrion, Lake Caelwen, Lake Thalera, Lake Anwen and Lake Ilyr, linked by the Brightone River and small waterfalls. The southwest coast is the showpiece. The Dawnbreak Cliffs form a long wall of white chalk dropping into the sea, and a field of tall white sea stacks called the Singing Stacks stands just offshore, with a huge blue sea serpent coiling below in the Serpent's Sea. The bridge-city of Mithalas, City of Tides, sits on the cliffs. Inland, every region carries a subtitle: Vaelwood, the Green Marches, Tharaden, the Golden Plains, Morgrath, the Duskwood, and Karzul, the Ember Peaks, a volcanic range streaming lava. Aerindor, Frosthelm and Morgrath all repeat earlier names.

  • A bright storybook world map with seven landmasses around a central desert continent. In the middle, the Endless Sands is a golden sea of dunes crossed by dotted caravan routes with little camel trains, linking palm-ringed oases and domed towns at Duneshar, Sahir, Miraj, Zahra, Talar, Ibnur and the Jade Oasis, with the Solstice Ranges along its eastern edge. In the northeast corner, the continent of Ildraen is on fire: an erupting volcano crowns the Ashen Crown, and the Cinder Spine sends bright orange lava rivers running down through the Redwastes past Blackreach, Dalrok and Scorchhold. The other lands are cheerful and green, from Valmere and Thalorin in the west to the snowy Drakarna, the forested Lumora with its pink-blossomed Blooming Isles, and the jungle of Soryth with the Singing Falls. A kraken, a whale and sea serpents fill the seas. Valmere, Frosthelm, Kaelthar and the Ashen Crown repeat earlier names.

  • A sun-faded archipelago in golden ochre and burnt sienna, with dozens of rocky islands scattered across the Thalassa Deep, the Cinder Sea and the Bloodtide Sea. The largest landmass in the middle is the Brackenwilds, a huge swamp of winding pale channels, islets and dark trees spreading over the whole centre of the map, with Marshrest at its southern edge. Right beside it in the northeast, the Vorak Range rises in black volcanic peaks crowned by the erupting Ashen Crown, with bright orange lava rivers flowing down through the Skarn Gates into the yellow Sulfur Reaches and the island of Kethra. Around these two, smaller islands hold towns and ruins, including Karuth, Caelros Isle, Sildran with its waterfall, Sathor, Taloris and Rothen. A legend separates swamp, lava flows and reefs, and the scale is in leagues. The Ashen Crown, Stormhollow and Karuth repeat earlier names.

  • A dark fantasy map on scorched, blood-stained parchment, titled the Shattered Crown, Lands Around the Ashen Sea, and one of the most richly labelled maps here. Every region around the dark inland sea carries a short motto: Gloomwood, Trees That Watch, Duskhelm, Shadows in the Hills, Westmere, Green Fields, Brave Folk, Embergate, Fire Beneath the World, and Velkar, Ruins of Empires. The east holds the prompt's steppe: Karthuun, the Wind Steppes, and the Vyrnsteppe, Horses, Sky and Freedom, are dotted with round tents and nomad camps at Suun Orda, Redtent, Tolgai and Sair Khan. The west is the farming half, with Westmere and Eastmarch quilted with fields and villages like Roseford, Thornfield and Meadowrest. Each wind face has a grim caption, such as the South Wind brings heat and what follows. A kraken and a red sea dragon hunt in the sea. Sair Khan is labelled twice, and Frosthelm, Stormhollow and Blackmere repeat earlier names.

  • A sepia parchment island kingdom, subtitled Pearl of the Emerald Sea, with the motto Fields, Forests, Rivers, People Always Endure. The eastern half of the island is the Blackfen Marches, a vast swamp of winding grey-blue channels, dark islets and gnarled trees, with the towers of Mirewatch and a drowned forest called the Sunken Wood at its heart, and Duskmarsh and Fenbridge at its edges. The west and south are classic farmland: Goldenvale, Kingsmead and Willowbrook are quilted with hedged fields, windmills and red-roofed villages like Merefield, Bramwell and Hearthwell, with the Oakenshade and Mossward forests and the Redleaf Hills beyond. The snowy Stormcrown Mountains rise in the north above Highreach Keep. In the southeast corner, a huge kraken drags a ship down in the Deep Hunger. The scale is in leagues. Blackfen and Greyhollow repeat earlier names.

  • A soft watercolour mountain realm subtitled A Realm of Stone, Snow and Fire. The upper two thirds are winter: the Thundertooth Range and the Shattered Spine fill the north with snowy peaks, the Frostwald Pines and Rimewood Forest are dusted white, and frozen lakes like Glimmerdeep, Glacialmere and Frosthollow sit between them, linked by passes such as Icewind, Stonevein, Whitepeak and Fallen King's Pass. The southeast corner is the opposite: the Ashen Crown is a black volcanic range around Mount Vhorag, with bright orange lava rivers pouring down past Redcinder Keep, the Bloodfire Caldera and the Emberdeep Mine into the Scorched Wastes. Between them the land softens into valleys, waterfalls and the green Verdant Steps around Stonehelm and Pinewatch. Sea serpents coil in the Greywater Sea and the Obsidian Sea. Karsten, the Ashen Crown, Blackfen and Blacktide all repeat earlier names.

  • A clean, colourful atlas-style continent with a named wind face in each corner. In the north, a near-perfect ring of snowy mountains called the Aurelian Ring encloses Lake Aurelian, with one castle on an island and a walled town at the lake's southern shore. South of the ring, the walled capital Valemere sits right in the middle of the continent on the Everflow River, which runs east to west across the whole land from Mistral Haven to Eastgate. The rest of the continent is varied: the Eldermere Forests and Silverwood Forest in the north, the Mirewood Marshes and Lythmere Delta in the east, the dark volcanic Cindermoor Mountains in the southwest, and the Duskreach Desert and Kharan Steppe in the south. Volcanoes smoke on the Ember Isles offshore. Valemere, Rivermoor, Oakridge and Greenhollow all repeat names the AI uses often in this gallery.

  • A sepia parchment kingdom with a griffin crest and the motto Lakes, Stone, People, Endure, bordered by Drakenmarch in the northeast and Vellora in the southeast. The prompt's chain of lakes runs through the heart of the kingdom: Lake Stillfen, Lake Brighthold (with an island castle), Lake Meadowfay and Lake Deepmere step down one after another, joined by short rivers and small waterfalls, with the walled capital Aldermere on the shore between them. The southeast is the other half of the brief. The Amber Wastes are a sandy desert crossed by a dotted caravan route called the Golden Road, with camel trains and palm-ringed oases at Sahra, Dunemere, Zafir Well and Khalazir. The northeast corner turns grim around the dead trees and skull of Cindermoor. A whale spouts with dolphins in the Wandering Deep. Lake Stillfen is labelled Lake Lake Stillfen by mistake. Aldermere was also the title of map 276, and Rivermere repeats an earlier name.

  • An engraved island kingdom with hand-tinted colour, a lion crest and the motto Land of Rivers, Stone and Star. Both prompt features are easy to find. In the northeast, Cairn Hollow is a huge round crater with sheer grey walls, and inside it a white-spired city with a tall central tower sits beside a crater lake. In the south, the walled capital Thalorin fills a round island in the middle of a river mouth called the Aurelian, connected to both banks by long stone bridges. The rest of the island is classic kingdom country: the snowy Frostcrown Peaks and Stormhull Mountains, the dark Eldenwood, the grey ruins of Stonefield Moor, Highmeadow and Goldleaf Vale, and harbours at Greyhaven, Brierford and Ravenmere. A huge kraken pulls a ship down in the Kraken Sea, and a whale spouts with dolphins in the Sapphire Deep. The cartouche reads the Kingdom of Valmere, the AI's most repeated name here.

  • A soft watercolour mountain realm titled Karsthur, the High Realm. In the upper centre, Cinderdeep is a huge round crater with steep grey walls, and the walled city of Vyrmor fills its floor around a crater lake, with a single waterfall spilling out of the rim to the south. That waterfall feeds the Mire of Saltha, a vast swamp of branching blue channels, mossy islets and ruined towers that spreads across the whole lower half of the map to the stilted town of Duskmarsh. Around the crater, snowy ranges (Stormspine, Rimeholt, Gravenspire, Stonefell) are threaded with named passes, Frostveil, Ashen Gate, Cloudrest and Westreach, and high valleys like Thalvor, Sunscar and Eldren. A blue sea serpent rears in the Shattered Sea near the Stormhollow Isles and the lighthouse on Kelmar Isle. A legend marks capitals, ruins, passes and swamps, and a road leads off To the Lowlands. Stormhollow repeats an earlier name.

  • A black-and-white pen-and-ink coast with fine hatching and a classic book-map feel. In the centre, a ring of peaks called the Cindermark and the Mistvein Peaks closes around Lake Aurelian, with a small fortress on an island in the middle and rivers escaping north and south through gaps like Kell's Pass. The entire eastern half of the land is the Oldenwood, a dense ancient forest of rounded treetops with Deepwood Keep, Wyrmwood Vale and towns like Leafton and Oakenshade hidden inside it. The coastline is properly rugged, with lighthouses at Harrow Head, Starfall Point and Sunken Watch, harbours at Windfall, Glimmerdeep and Greenharbour, bays such as Blacktide, Westmere and Selkie Bay, and tall sea stacks called the Grey Monoliths. A whale and dolphins swim in the Wandering Expanse, and sea serpents and a kraken lurk at the corners. The scale is in miles. Lake Aurelian, Ravenmere and Blacktide repeat earlier names.

  • An elven-style map in deep blue and green with gold-leaf vines and an elven statue in the border, closing with the motto Many Lands, One Sea, Endless Stories. Lands ring a central water called the Velarin Sea, dotted with white-spired island towns at Silmara, Taloris and the Myrilon Isles. In the north, a river runs across the flat Thaldor Plateau and pours off its sheer edge as the Skyfall, a wide white waterfall wrapped in spray that drops straight into the sea. In the east, Morgrave, the Dead Forest, is a dark grey mass of twisted leafless trees under a pale moon, beside the smouldering land of Nethra. The other shores vary: the Elenmere Woodlands and the bridge-city of Caelthir in the west, the snowy Tharog Mountains, the sandy Sunscar Wastes with Karash in the south, and the icy Sapphire Spine. Karash is labelled twice, and the Skyfall name repeats map 214.

  • An elven-style world map in deep navy with gold-leaf line work, showing six continents around the Starfall Ocean and the Emerald Sea. The sacred mountain sits on Varuun in the east: Tharun, the Sacred Peak, rises alone and far above the Ashen Plains with a golden starburst shining from its summit, and the Redwind Wastes spread red below it. The north is the snowy half of the brief. Valmor, the Shattered Crown, is a frozen continent of glaciers and frozen lakes with the Thrandel Pines dusted white, and Korveth holds the Varglen Woods, the Blackice Steppes and Winterdeep, with Norse-sounding Draugrim. The other lands are greener: Eldranis with the Caelwen Forest and a golden spired city, Myreth with the Gilded Wilds and white-towered Lorienn, and Thalassar with the Cinder Expanse and Saephyr Jungles. The scale gives miles and kilometres, and Valmor and the Shattered Crown subtitle repeat earlier maps.

  • A frost-blue city plan in snow and silver ink, one of the most detailed city maps here, with every district carrying a short motto. The city climbs a great cliff above Glasswater Bay. At the top, Highcrown, the Royal Palace, is a cluster of dark-spired towers on a walled hill, with Silvergrove, the Royal Gardens, laid out in snowy hedged squares beside it. Below the palace sits the Upper Town, Stone above the World, packed with houses around a central square. In the northwest, the Old Quarter, Echoes Remain, is a field of roofless ruins and broken arches still inside the wall. A long stair cuts down the cliff to Docktown, Tides and Trades, where piers full of ships reach into a bay clogged with ice floes, guarded by lighthouses. The Ledges, Rivergate and Blacktide Isle, the ruins of the first keep, complete the city. Valmere and Blacktide are both names the AI has used before.

  • An elven-style map in deep blue and green with gold-leaf ornament and statues in the border, built around an inland sea called the Thalorien Sea, with the white-spired Moon City of Ilyndir on an island at its centre. Both prompt features sit in the northeast. Serelune Falls, the Veil of the World, is a wide waterfall where the Rhunel River pours off a cliff edge straight into the sea in a cloud of spray. Right beside it, Nymorath, the Starfall Crater, is a huge round pit with a ringed city of canals and towers on its floor. Around the sea, every shore city carries a subtitle: Aurelorn, the Sunlit Realm, Thalaswen, Jewel of the West, Elysand, the Pearl Port, Valtheris, the Golden Reach, and Elaris, the Verdant Crown, while Korvath Ashlands burns red in the southwest. A huge kraken drags a ship down in the Deepcalls, Here Dreams Drown. Elaris, Starfall Crater and Morgrath repeat earlier names.

  • A painted tabletop city plan with raised buildings and cliffs, the motto Trade, Learning, Faith, Power, and a numbered key of eleven notable locations. The River Valemere cuts the city in two, crossed by Scholars' Bridge, Crown Bridge and Lion's Bridge. North of the river, the High City climbs a rocky bluff: Aurelian Keep and the Royal Palace crown the top, the formal Suncrest Gardens spread beside them, and the Twin Falls pour off the cliff into the river. The domed University of Valemere sits in the northwest. South of the river lies the lower city: the Market Ward around a fountain square, the Guilds' Quarter, the Temple District with Saint Meriel's Cathedral, Westmarch, Eastbank, and finally the Docks and the Shipwrights on Valemere Bay, guarded by two lighthouses. Roads leave through named gates to Blackridge, Thalorien, Dawnhold and Ambermere. The scale is in paces, and the city name and Crown of the River subtitle both repeat earlier maps.

  • A dark fantasy kingdom on scorched, blood-edged parchment with a tree banner and the motto Stone, Blood, Endurance. At the top centre, Vaelgrim, the Sacred Mountain, rises alone with a red glowing halo around its peak and a ruined shrine at its foot. The eastern third of the kingdom is the Hollow Salts, a pale cracked salt pan of polygons with broken towers and arches scattered across it, a dry lake bed called Bonescar Lake with a giant skeleton beside it, and the town of Saltspire at its edge. The rest of the kingdom is dark farmland and forest, with the castle-capital Drakefall on the river, Ravenhold, Ironbastion, Duskward, Cinderwatch and the harbour fortress of Blackhaven. • A soft watercolour archipelago that runs from glacier to coral reef, and the latest map here titled the Shattered Isles. Across the top, Keldrun and Nivra are huge white ice shelves with cracked glaciers and floating icebergs, with the frosty Frosthallow Isles and the Hailsea beside them. Moving south the islands turn green and then fully tropical. Sundara, the largest island, is a palm-covered jungle with waterfalls, and the smaller Kaelith, Lyrani and the Sunspire Isles follow the same pattern. Around them the shallows glow turquoise with painted coral rings: the Coralwyn Reef, Taviri Atoll, the Serpent Reef and the Tideflower Isles. A small volcano smokes on Voranu in the middle of the sea. A big blue whale swims in the Singing Expanse with dolphins nearby. The scale is in leagues, and the Shattered Isles title, Sunspire and Thalor all repeat earlier maps.

  • A sun-faded mountain realm in golden ochre and burnt sienna, titled the Karthen Heights and Surrounding Realms. A deep red-walled canyon called the Brackendeep cuts right across the middle of the map from the Sunscar Ridge to the Redgate Chasm, with waterfalls spilling into it and a single great arched bridge spanning the gorge. The ruins theme is everywhere. Dashed ruined roads run between broken arches, aqueducts and towers, through passes like Thalara, Daelun, Stoneveil and Ordal, past Karthen Hold (marked in ruins) on the canyon's edge, Talar's Rest and the Nemruk Ruins. The coast at Crownfall Port is a drowned harbour of half-sunken towers. North of the canyon, snowy Morgrath Peak tops the Vorren Spires, and the Skarfalls tumble down to the east. A huge kraken wraps a ship in the Velaris Sea. The legend has symbols for ruined roads and canyons, and Karthen and Morgrath repeat earlier names.

  • A bright storybook mountain realm in cheerful greens and blues, with red-roofed towns, windmills and a crowded sea. Across the upper half runs the Ashen Canyon, a deep red-walled gorge with twin waterfalls pouring into it, crossed by the long arched bridge at Ravenbridge and guarded by Cinderwatch on its eastern rim. Above the canyon the land climbs into snowy peaks (the Frostspine Mountains, Thundertop, the Stormcrow Peaks) with passes at Northwind and Dragon's Pass and valleys like Skyreach and Moonvale. Below it, the Silvermead River flows past Willowbrook and Rivermoor and then fans out into the Tidefall Delta, a wide tree-like spread of channels and small green islands full of farms and villages. A huge kraken grabs a ship in the Emerald Sea while a whale spouts and dolphins leap beside it. The scale is in miles, and Rivermoor, Willowbrook and Stonehollow repeat earlier names.

  • An elven-style continent in deep blue and green with gold scrollwork, titled Aerithal, the Continent of River, Stone and Star, where every region has a poetic subtitle. The northeast is the steppe the prompt asked for: the Karul Steppes, Winds of a Thousand Horses, a golden grassland with galloping riders, round tents and the Orun Khanate. Directly south, the land sinks into Mireth, the Weeping Marshes, a misty grey wetland of reeds and pools, and at its heart lies Nulthar, the Sunken City, a forest of drowned towers, arches and bridges rising out of the water. The rest of the continent wraps around them: Thaldorin, the Frostcrown, in the north, Sylvaran, the Eternal Woods, and Elderwylde, the Green Heart, in the west, Drakemoor, the Ashen Range, glowing with lava in the middle, and Ketharin, the Bone Wastes, in the south. The western half is the Eternwinter Forest, captioned Ancient Trees, Older Magic, a dense snowbound wood with Moonfall Grove, a standing-stone ring called Whisperbough Circle, and a giant tree marked the Ancients at its heart. The southern centre is the other half of the brief: the Valmere Salt Flats, Bones of an Older Sea, are a pale cracked crust dotted with rock spires, and beside them the Dustwraith Basin, the Drying Lake, is a dry lake bed scattered with ruins. The north holds the royal keep of Frostcrown, Mirrorfell Lake with Stillmere Abbey, and Gravenhold, linked by roads through passes. The coast runs from Winterharbor to the Frostveil Cliffs. Both prompt features sit on the central continent of Elderford, Realm of Rivers. Six lakes run across it in a chain, Lake Seren, Lake Morwen, Lake Calen, Lake Thalos, Lake Erynd and Lake Kael, joined by short rivers, and from the southern edge the water pours off a cliff as the Skyfall, captioned Where the World Descends. The other continents each carry a subtitle: Thaldrun, Lands of Enduring Winter, Vyrntha, the Stone Crown, Kaelor, the Sunward Realm with Sarrath, City of a Thousand Gates, Zarash, the Bleeding Lands with Vhul, the Red City, and Maldris, the Jade Continent, with the Saffron Delta. The whole northwest is the Oldwood, a dense ancient forest that stretches from Mournwold down to the shore, with a lone tower called the Eldertree Spire hidden inside it. The chalk cliffs are the other highlight, and there are two sets. In the northeast, Highcliff sits above a long wall of white cliffs that crumble into the Shattered Spires, a field of tall sea stacks. In the southeast, Mooncliff stands above another white cliff line, with the Crown Stacks rising offshore. The south shore has farmland at Sunreach and Ambervale and the Gilded Delta's braided channels, and the east turns dry toward Khelsun and the Ashen Wastes. A legend includes a symbol for cliffs. Greenhollow and Stonehollow repeat earlier names.

  • A frost-blue archipelago in snow, ice and silver ink, with every major island given a subtitle. The largest island, Gjaldarth, the Riven Island, is split right across by the Skargrim Canyon, a deep dark gorge with frozen waterfalls spilling down its sheer walls. The southern half of that island sinks into the Miresong Fens, a misty frozen marsh, and at its edge lies Thalmoris, the Sunken City, a cluster of domed halls, towers and arched bridges standing half drowned in icy water. Dozens of other islands surround it, all with Norse-flavoured names: Thornvald, the White Crown, Solnarr, Isle of Echoes, Bjargvik, the Iceward Fort, Snorlag, the Black Ice, Hallowmere, the Misted Isles, and Caelgarn, the Last Light, a lone lighthouse. A long silver sea serpent coils through Vorlund, the Serpent Sea, near a sinking ship. The scale is in kilometres, and Frosthelm and Hallowmere repeat earlier names.

  • A clean, colourful atlas-style world map with six continents around the Aurelian Ocean and the Umbral Ocean, framed by clouds. On the central continent, a near-perfect ring of mountains called the Crownspine encloses the deep blue Lake Myrath. The prompt's snowy north spreads across two continents. Nordhal is a frozen land of the Whitewood pine forest and three frozen lakes, Lake Draum, Lake Sindr and Lake Kel, under the Bjornskar Range, and the top of Vyndaris holds the Frostpine Forest, Lake Veyl and Lake Thalor beneath the Glacierpeak Range. The other continents vary widely: Kaelthun with the Valthari Desert and the Oasis of Zerim, tropical Sarastan with the Whispering Jungle and coral islets, and volcanic Morgrath with the Bloodmarsh and the Vulkar Peaks. Sea serpents, a whirlpool and a lone galleon fill the oceans. Morgrath, Sundara, Eldermere and Stonehollow all repeat earlier names.

  • A soft watercolour continent with an ornate border of stags, dragons and suns. At the top centre, Mount Vaelthor, the Sacred Mountain, rises alone and snow-capped with a golden halo of light behind its peak, above the snowy Frostmere Wilds. Directly below it runs the prompt's chain of lakes: Starfall Lake, Silvermere, the Eldren Lakes, Thornreach Lake and Moonward Lake step south one after another, linked by short rivers and small waterfalls, ending near the bridge town of Lirandel and the harbour of Sableport. Around them the land is varied: Greenhollow Forest and the Northreach Forest, the golden Amberfield Plains around Caerwyn, the red Emberstone Range with the dark fortress of Ironhallow, and in the east the Redspire Badlands and the misty Duskfen Marshes. Ships, a whale and a sea serpent fill the Dawnswell Sea. Starfall, Silvermere, Greenhollow and the Shattered Isles repeat earlier names.

  • A minimalist black-ink mountain realm in the style of a novel's endpaper map, with a Celtic-knot cartouche and the motto High Valleys, Ancient Passes, Sacred Peaks, Northern Wilds. The centre of the map is Caelthar, the Holy Mountain, a single towering peak drawn larger and sharper than everything around it. The rest is the prompt's cold wilderness. Three frozen lakes sit in the corners, Mirror Lake in the north, Blackice Lake in the southwest and Silverglass Lake in the southeast, each drawn with cracked ice plates and small islets, and dense snowy pine forests fill the Frostwold Forest, the Wolfshelf Forest and the Pinewastes. High valleys (Ravendeep, Skyreach, Deepvale, Sunward Vale) and named passes (Thorngale, Stonebarrow, Iceveil, Starfall) link small settlements like Hearthfeld, Karvenhold and Thalinor. The scale is in leagues. Caelthar is a name the AI has used for several cities and a holy peak elsewhere in this gallery.

  • A sun-faded coast in golden ochre and burnt sienna, drawn at an angle so the cliffs and crater walls stand tall. In the northeast, a huge round crater holds the city of Thalorin, laid out in rings of streets around a central square and pool. Leading away from the crater, the Emberchasm cuts diagonally across the whole land, a deep red-walled canyon with thin waterfalls spilling down its sides and a walled town perched on its edge at Cliffrest. The coastline is properly rugged, with Gullspire Head, the Stormwatch Peninsula and Saltwind Cape reaching into the sea, harbours at Westhaven and Grayfin Harbour, a lighthouse on Driftmark, and a field of sea stacks called the Shattered Teeth. A giant kraken drags a ship down in the Stormwild Sea, and other ships sail the Drowning Deep. Thalorin, Stonehollow, Blacktide and the Sunken Crown all repeat names used elsewhere in this gallery.

  • A sepia parchment city plan, one of the most detailed here, with every ward named. Valmoren is split by a great cliff. On top sits the Upper Town around Lion's Square, with the High Citadel and Crownspire Terrace at its peak, the Noble's Quarter, and Skykeep Tower and Sunrise Bastion along the walls. A gate called Highgate and the Cliffwalk lead down to the Lower Town, which spreads around a round Market Square into the Merchants' Ward, the Iron Ward, Tanners' Row, the Artisan Quarter and the Fishermen's Quarter, ending at the Deep Harbor full of piers, the Customs House and the Admiral's Pier. The west holds the Arcane Quarter, with the tall blue Aether Spire, the Great Library, Sages' Enclave and Observatory Hill. The east is the Temple District, packed with gold domes around the Radiant Temple and the Twelve Shrines. The scale is in paces, and the Aether Spire repeats map 181.

  • A painted tabletop kingdom with a griffin crest, the motto Rivers, Fields, People, Endure, and a border of mermaids and griffins. The walled capital Caer Aleron, the River Crown, sits where the Ravenmere River loops around it, with bridges on both sides and farmland all around at Sunmeadow, Greenhollow and Brindleford. To the east the land drowns in the Duskfen Marshes and Willowspine Marsh, a misty grey wetland of reeds and pools, and in the middle of it stand the towers and spires of Vael-Nir, the Sunken City, rising out of the water. Neighbouring realms sit beyond coloured borders: Khar Drûn, Realm of the Dwarves, the Kingdom of Rothgar, the Kingdom of Thalessir and the Mirewastes. The west coast is rocky with Thornwatch, Greyhaven and Meralis, and a whale swims in the Singing Deep, captioned tales say the old whales remember the world. Greyhaven, Oakridge and Greenhollow repeat earlier names.

  • A clean, colourful atlas-style kingdom with a tree crest, a clear legend and dashed red borders. Two forests split the kingdom's east. The Eldenwood, labelled Ancient Forest, is a vast dark-green woodland covering the whole northeast, with one giant tree and old ruins hidden inside. Directly south of it, the Greywaste, Haunted Forest, is a grey mass of dead twisted trees and drifting fog with the gothic towers of Nightfell and the village of Briarhollow trapped inside. The western half is classic kingdom country: the castle-capital Eldenkeep on a hill, Lake Miren, towns like Ravenford, Thornbridge, Willowbrook and Oakridge, the snowy Sunspire Mountains, and coastal castles at Stormwatch and Caerwyn. Neighbours include the Kingdom of Thalor, the Blacklands, the Kingdom of Morgrath and the Frosthollow Marches. The scale is in miles. Ravenford, Oakridge, Greenhollow and Morgrath all repeat earlier names.

  • A painted tabletop map of lands ringing an inland sea called the Serpent Sea, with a long green sea serpent coiling through its centre and small island towns at Moonspire Isle and the Starfall Isles. Across the north, the Frozen Wastes, Glacier of Endless Winter, and the Shattered Glaciers form a wall of blue ice cliffs. Beside them rise the Dragonpeaks, and at their highest point a red dragon perches over a glowing lair marked Vyrmthar, the Dragon's Lair. Around the rest of the sea, every region carries a subtitle: Velenshire, Kingdom of the Green Vale, Mireth, League of River Cities, the Kharai Steppes, Land of the Horse Lords, Sunreach, Sultanate of the Dunes, Silverfall, Free Cities, Blackwood, Shadows Deep, and the volcanic Emberlands, the Red Wastes. Mireth, Kharazul, Starfall and Vyrmthar repeat or echo earlier names, and Eastwall appears twice.

  • A bright storybook continent split almost exactly in two. The green west has Verdant Vale, Elderwood and the walled river city of Caelthar. The east holds the Saffron Expanse, a desert crossed by dotted caravan routes that link the Golden Oasis, Saltwind Oasis, Mirage Well and a central Caravanserai. Between them the Skyfall Plateau breaks into a cliff, and the Greatfall drops off it in a white curtain with a small rainbow in the spray. In the bottom right a purple kraken wraps a sailing ship in the Kraken's Deep, and the legend box sits bottom left with a scale bar in kilometres. Watch for the usual reused names: Caelthar and Oakridge have appeared on other maps in this gallery, and Rivermoot is close to Rivermoor. The Ember Wastes cliffs in the east are a nice touch, a red rock edge that keeps the desert from just fading into the sea.

  • Aeldoran, the Crowned Continent, is drawn in soft painted washes with fine ink detail. The crater is the showpiece. The Ashen Crater sits just below the Highspine range, a deep stepped bowl with terraces cut into its walls and the city of Vyrnthal built around a small lake on the floor. The walled capital is Ravenbridge on the Silverflow, with a long arched bridge carrying the road across the river. The rest of the land moves from the Greenwood and the Verdant Expanse in the middle to the snowy Icemere Wastes in the north and the smoking Cinderwilds in the south east. A sea serpent coils off the west coast, a kraken rises in the Azure Deep and a whale surfaces in the Northreach Sea. The label beside the ruined town near Blackroot Marches is smudged and hard to read, and Aeldoran is a name used on two other maps in this gallery.

  • This one looks like an old engraved chart that someone tinted by hand. The four corners each hold a bearded wind face, labelled Northwind, Eastwind, Westwind and Southwind, all blowing toward the centre. The river comes out of the frozen north, runs across the Aerlith Highlands and drops off the plateau edge as the Skyfall, a tall white column with mist rising at its foot. To the north east the Dragon Peaks glow with lava, and a red dragon spreads its wings above Vyrmspire Lair. A sea serpent rears out of the Serpent Sea on the east side. Other regions worth a look are the Kharuun Wastes with their domed city of Sundar, the dark Duskwood around Nightfall, and the drowned Shattered Moors around Mirewatch. Names to watch: Valemere, the Skyfall and Vyrmspire all turn up on other maps here too, so rename them if you want this world to stand alone.
